The short version. There are no accounts here and we never build a profile of you. Your timer settings stay in your own browser. We count visits and ad views in aggregate only. The one thing that can set a cookie is advertising — if third‑party ads are running on the site, see section 5.
closebell.com ("the site") is a free countdown timer for market candle intervals, shown in Indian Standard Time. It runs in your browser: there is no visitor login and no user account, and the pages themselves are static files. A small service on the same server does three things and nothing else — it answers a request for the current time, it stores the text of the sponsored ticker, and it serves the operator's own password‑protected admin page. None of them receives anything about you beyond the ordinary request details described in section 4.

else, and it never leaves your device either.
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for closebell.com in your browser settings. Nothing is lost except your preferences, which simply return to their defaults.
The site is served by a standard web server, which writes ordinary access logs. Like almost every website, these logs may record your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the HTTP status and your browser's user‑agent string. While a page is open it also asks the server for the current time and re‑reads the ticker text every few minutes; those appear in the logs as ordinary requests and carry no identifier of any kind. They exist for security and troubleshooting (for example, to detect abuse), are not used to build any profile of you, are not sold or shared, and are rotated and deleted in the ordinary course of server maintenance.
The site carries advertising. Two different things can be involved, and they behave differently:
The strip under the timer normally shows a scrolling text ticker hosted by us. It sets no cookie and loads nothing from another company. So that we can tell an advertiser how their slot performed, the site counts, per slot, how many times it was shown and how many times it was clicked. What your browser sends is a slot number and whether it was a view or a click — nothing else. Those counts are stored as aggregate totals per day: a number going up. No identifier, cookie or IP address is stored with them, and they cannot be traced back to a person or a session. If you block that request, the ticker still works exactly the same.
The operator can switch the strip over to a Google ad unit instead. When that is on and you have allowed it, the strip shows an advertisement served by Google rather than our own ticker; if Google has nothing to show, our ticker comes back. In that case Google receives your request directly and may set its own cookies or read device identifiers. In particular:

Until you choose, advertising storage is held in the denied state (Google Consent Mode v2 signals
ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization all start as
denied), so no ad cookie can be written first and asked about afterwards. Your choice is
remembered in your browser's localStorage, not in a cookie, and it is not sent to us.
Change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer — withdrawing is
exactly as easy as giving. We do not control what an ad network collects once you allow it, and this
policy cannot speak for them; their own policies apply to that processing.
Where the advertising network's own certified consent tool is in use (Google's “Privacy & messaging” message), that tool presents the choice instead, and records and honours it directly with the network; you will then see its dialog rather than ours, and its own controls let you change your answer later. We do this rather than ask twice.
When no ad network is switched on — the case today — there is no banner, because there is nothing to consent to: the site sets no cookies at all.
Apart from advertising, the page loads no third‑party resources at all. The fonts are served from this domain rather than a font CDN, precisely so that your visit is not disclosed to another company. There are no embedded widgets, comment systems or social buttons.
We look at traffic in aggregate — how many page views and roughly how many distinct visitors per day, which pages were opened, which sites linked here, and the broad device and browser mix. This is produced from the server logs described in section 4; no script runs in your browser to measure you, and no analytics company is involved. When distinct visitors are counted, IP addresses are first hashed with a secret that is discarded whenever the service restarts, so the statistics themselves contain no address and cannot be reversed.
The operator can switch on a country breakdown. When it is on, the IP address already present in the server log is matched against a copy of the free DB‑IP country database (CC BY 4.0) that is stored on this server. Your address is therefore never sent to a geolocation company or any other third party. Only a per‑country total is kept — for example “India 93” — with no address, identifier or timestamp attached to it, and nothing finer than country: no city, no district, no coordinates, and no way to place an individual visit. When the option is off, no lookup happens at all.
The site is a general‑purpose utility and is not directed at children. Since no personal information is collected from anyone, none is collected from children either.
Data‑protection laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data held about you. We hold no account, profile or contact record for you: your settings are already under your sole control in your own browser, and our statistics are aggregate counts with no identifier attached. The one exception is the server logs in section 4, which contain IP addresses for a limited period; write to us with the approximate time of your visit and we will remove the matching entries where we still hold them. Rights against an ad network must be exercised with that company — the links in section 5 are the fastest route.
Aggregate ad counts are kept for about 13 months and then deleted. Country totals, where that option is on, are aggregate numbers held with the traffic statistics and are likewise not tied to anyone. Server logs are rotated and deleted in the ordinary course of server maintenance. Your settings and your advertising‑cookie answer stay in your browser until you clear your site data or press Cookie settings. Nothing else is kept, because nothing else is collected.
